The EAD Conference is a biennial conference organised by the European Academy of Design focused on doctoral design education. For the first time in the 25 years of existence of the conference, it will be hosted by 5 hubs simultaneously:
Brazil, Finland, India, Spain and UK.
Each of the hubs will host one of the five days of the conference physically and the participants will be able to follow the activities of the other hubs online as well.
This is the website of the Bilbao Hub, which will be hosting the opening day.
Track 1: The Discipline of Design - Transdisciplinary Practices
The Bilbao Hub itself showcases the diversity of perspectives on Design (architecture and industrial design) from its inception and thus, this track aims at better understanding the discipline and how it interacts with other fields and disciplines.
To do so, we are looking forward to explore, map and reflect about the discipline of Design in doctoral education as well as the role of transdisciplinary practices within academia.
